Imo, borderlands 2 is much more defense focused until you acquire awesome guns and even then, enemies can still down you with one rocket or some quick bullets to the dome. At least with this build I can not worry about my aggro, have my thrall take out groups of weaker enemies all while I regenerate health and shields.Nothing can survive infinite damage!
