Lim gasket 3800.

I have the LIM off, the gasket is definetly wasted... totally blown apart as usual right at the coolant ports. But heres the problem with the lifters.... There are 2 (with the motor in it current position) that have 1/4" of free play at the rocker arms!!!. If you mean water in your UIM , that could mean the plastic walls around the EGR have eroded or the coolant ports at the throttle body/UIM junction have collapsed.

Now at 139,00k it's leaking coolant again. The later series II supercharged with a rod knock is kind of surprising, but could've been due to the lower gasket. I bought my upper and lower off eBay, it included the Dorman gaskets and the EGR tube. Over the past 3k miles it has lost about 1 gallon of coolant, no leaks on the driveway at all so im sure I need to change the UIM. GM 3800 Service Tips, Techniques, and Advice ... Hello Hal, I did a LIM gasket job on my 2003 Lesabre about 8 months ago and also changed out my oil sending unit as it was showing 129 psi. Immediately dropped to 60psi. I noticed this morning it is now back up to 129psi.

Dunno if that's normal, but I don't think it is. I'm, going to take a straight edge to the LIM and the cylinder heads tomorrow, and by wednesday, hopefully, I'll be finished up.
