Feb 10, 2016 · C5 General - MGW shifter issue - Ever since we installed the MGW going from 4 to 5 is a little challenging. There is play in the stick while in 4th gear left to right. So if you don't move the stick right to take up the slack before leaving 4th you will often end up back in 3rd instead of 5th. I had the MGW shifter on my 2017 Z06...and installed one on my ZR1... All of the factory shifters are vague, and long throw, so if you're willing to put up with high resistance, I recommend the MGW. To me I didn't like the high stiffness with my MGW.
